AAE v.2 [DARWIN] (2)

Founded by the Northern Territory peak body for people with disability, the All Abilities Expo is a unique and interactive event that connects people with disabilities, carers, guardians, and families with disability service providers, community services, business, industry, and government.

The expo provides the opportunity to learn more about what is available in the Northern Territory, discuss individual requirements, and enable individual rights to choice and control. The expo also provides an opportunity to showcase presentations that promote inclusion, accessibility, equity, and diversity as a means of building awareness on the day.

In promoting equity, admission to the All Abilities Expo is FREE to the community and includes "come n' try" activities like wheelchair basketball, rugby, AFL, dance, craft, chess, as well as sensory stations, an animal petting area, face painting, balloon artist, and free food.

At every AAE, attendees get a preview of our full-colour printed and digital "All Abilities Expo Directory," a valuable resource packed with essential information and contacts to connect you with the services and products that best suit your needs. The 2023 Expo Directory is a handy guide to services and supports that are available across the Top End, including Darwin, Katherine, and Alice Springs.

Last year, we are pleased to say that, thanks to the sensational support of the community, sponsors, stallholders, vendors, and IdA staff, we were able to deliver on our promise that the 2023 expo would be bigger and better than before, with more stalls, entertainment, and interactive activities for everyone. This year, we are pleased to have IdA's disability peer-group group play an invaluable part in making the 2024 All Abilities Expo even better.

In continuing with the expo, and always working towards a brighter future, to ensure it is inclusive and accessible to all who attend by providing equitable access with a no-holds, FREE, and open-door approach, we invite sponsors, vendors, and donations to reach out to us to collaborate and explore the potential of just how wide we can open the door!

As part of raising awareness, the All Abilities Expo is running on Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) as a way of spotlighting current programs and businesses that are inclusive and accessible, as well as promoting the opportunity for others to make the move toward inclusion, accessibility, equity, and diversity. With GAAD's purpose, "to get everyone talking, thinking, and learning about digital access and inclusion, and the more than one billion people with disabilities/impairments," we welcome expressions of interest from those who may wish to be part of the day in a more elevated way by taking the stage and presenting how you align with the principles of digital accessibility and inclusion.

You will notice that we are maximising the importance of connection and community awareness; we are linking the All Abilities Expo to coincide with important awareness dates so that we can truly drive forward the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.

Be sure to save the date and join us at this year's All Abilities Expo!

"Compliments to the Event Planner: You have done an amazing job and so many stall holders and visitors were saying how well organised the event was on Friday. Well done! "

"This was the best expo you've hosted so far. Free sausage sizzle and coffee, great!"

"Just wanted to say the AAE was wonderful!!! I am on the Club Krock group because my daughter has an intellectual disability.  I also attended Seniors day and I noticed a big difference in government involvement and support, is that because there are more aged people than people with disability?  Thank you for all of your support and the work that you do."

"Amazing event, so many beautiful people and smiles shared. Thank you for having us"
